Jaycee Magic and Variety Show

The 2009 Jaycee Magic & Variety Show will be touring the state in October. Each year thousands of free tickets are distributed to families across the state under the Jaycees name and with the support of businesses and residents around the state. The show provides local chapters with the opportunity to distribute free children's tickets to local schools, nonprofits, mentoring programs, and families. Chapters can use the Magic Show project as an opportunity to raise the profile of their chapter and connect community members and families together through fun and low-cost entertainment. Our promotion company contacts area residents and businesses and secures donations to offset any costs associated with the performance so that we may provide donated tickets for children in each community. A portion of the proceeds from the show come to the Minnesota Jaycees and supports our programming and mission.

Information for local chapters

When/Where:
IIf a local chapter is interested in bringing the show to their community, feel free to contact us and we can see where there may be possibilities to make that happen.

Locations are determined each summer and if a Jaycee chapter's community has been identified as a potential hot spot for the show, we will contact the local chapter to ensure there are no scheduling conflicts and to gage chapter interest in distributing the donated tickets using the local chapter’s name.

Why: To raise funds for the Minnesota Jaycees, the Magic and Variety Show provides important program funding for the state organization and raises the profile of local chapters in their community.

How: Robert Sands Promotions makes all the arrangements for the shows, including hiring the performers and arranging the venue. The promotion company contacts area residents and businesses and secures donations to offset any costs associated with the performance so that we may provide donated tickets for children in each community. A percentage of funds raised are sent to the Minnesota Jaycees from the promotion company. Prior to the show, the local chapter has the opportunity to distribute tickets. In towns where there is no local chapter, the promotions company distributes those tickets on behalf of the Minnesota Jaycees. The evening of the show, the Jaycees have the option of hosting an information booth at the location, as well as introducing the Jaycee Magic & Variety Show to the audience. The promotion company is responsible for venue set-up and tear-down.

The Magic & Variety Show provides a revenue stream for the Minnesota Jaycees, a public relations and community involvement opportunity for our local chapters, and a source of free entertainment for local children. Local members involved in public relations and community involvement also have the opportunity to develop professional skills such as marketing, public speaking and networking. We look forward to seeing the show hit communities across the state this October!

Chapters will have the chance to see a part of the magic performance at Fall All-State in Rochester this year– more information to come.
